This section of my portfolio is dedicated to my writings as a reporter for the Northwest Missourian, the on campus news paper at Northwest Missouri State University.
This article is about a local business in Maryville that opened recently. The business is a pick up and delivery mobile laundraumt. This business is one of its kind and it was a unique and fun story. I did not face many challenges in this story as the business owner was very cooperative and informative for my article.
This article is about a 16 year old from Maryville who took over his families business. Their dumpster service now headed by the teenager offered a unique angle to write an entertaining story about. The only challenges with writing this article was getting the initial response from the parents to get the interview with their child.
This article is about a local Chinese restaurant that has been around for nearly two decades. Although its longevity is impressive, it faces closure due to their cook leaving. This story offered a challenge due to little information and I was able to write a compelling piece.
